the working list of what is truly “free” for an end-using consumer

In order to define “free” we must have qualifications. First, items listed here must be tangible. They must be produced unnaturally, ie. man-made products or services, available upon request or acquisition. Secondly, they must serve a function for the end-using consumer. Thirdly, and most importantly, they must not need any previous purchase via the vendor for these “free” products or services for you to acquire. why

www.blog.flansburgdesign.com is the online dream journal and idea factory for the artist Matthew Flansburg. It is the interactive, sub-domain of Matthew’s online gallery: fLANSBURG dESIGN.

Thirteen years ago I realized that creation is to destruction as genius is to madness. Further, an act of destruction takes but a moment while creation is a never ending process.

While earning my degree in Physics I bore witness to the greatest of creation; the Universe. Beauty in our natural world is a testament to this genius. Whether it be the glory of a breathtaking sunset, the profound organic, evolutionary machine that is man, or the quantum-mechanical workings of the hydrogen atom, I cannot deny the fertile perfection of the Universe. It is, after all, God’s Work, the Ultimate Creation.

We as human beings attempt to emulate this beauty through self expression. We gather our own experiences, thoughts and emotions and combine them with our rich cultural and intellectual ancestry. We expand our imagination, knowledge and understanding and create works of art as testaments to Creation itself.

The scientist questions how and the philosopher questions why, the poet evokes feeling and the musician summons emotion. I express my world view with passion and intensity using paint as my voice.

The standard I hold for my works is rather simple: My paintings must have an emotive and definable theme, they must be balanced in composition and color, above all they must entertain a significant concept or be a significant source of entertainment.

I hope you enjoy my life’s work as much as I enjoy creating it.

Cheers!

Matthew Flansburg
